THE BEST OF THE BENELUX COUNTRIES
AMSTERDAM / BRUSSELS / LUXEMBOURG / RUDESHEIM

SUGGESTED PROGRAM ITINERARY:

DAY 1

Arrive at Amsterdam Airport. Brief city tour including Anne Frank House (2-3 hours maximum). After tour, checkin to the hotel with the rest of the day at leisure. That evening, a welcome dinner at the Amsterdam city center hotel (3 courses with coffee). Overnight Amsterdam.

DAY 2

Full day excursion beginning with a visit to the Keukenhof Gardens (April-May Only). Lunch can be on their own at the gardens or somewhere along the way where are there are plenty of restaurant choices. In the afternoon, a visit to The Hague, Delft and Madurodam. Return to Amsterdam in late afternoon or early evening. Dinner on their own in Amsterdam. Overnight Amsterdam.

DAY 3

Morning guided museum tour of the Rijksmuseum and/or the Van Gogh Museums as they are within a few blocks of each other. Lunch on their own. Rest of the day free to go back to the museums, or to sightsee on their own. That evening a farewell dinner at a local restaurant (3 courses with coffee). Overnight Amsterdam.

DAY 4

Depart Amsterdam after breakfast for Brussels. Along the way, a tour of Antwerp with a group lunch there (3 courses with coffee only). A tour of Antwerp follows (90 minutes to 2 hours). Drive to Brussels where it is hotel checkin time. Welcome to Brussels dinner at the hotel (3 courses with coffee). Overnight in Brussels.

DAY 5

Half day morning city tour of Brussels. Rest of the day free. Lunch and dinner on their own. A half day tour in the afternoon can also be arranged for sightseeing just outside the city to Waterloo. Overnight Brussels.

DAY 6

Full day excursion to Gent and Bruges. Group lunch in Gent (3 courses with coffee) after a short city tour of 60-90 minutes. Then on to Bruges for the rest of the day's tour. A group dinner can be arranged along the way back to Brussels, or in Brussels itself at a local restaurant. Overnight Brussels.

DAY 7

Transfer from Brussels to Luxembourg City. Leave midmorning from Brussels with a stop to visit some World War II sites at Bastogne (Battle of the Bulge), Wirtz and Ettelbruch. Group lunch on the way (3 courses with coffee). Arrive Luxembourg City for hotel checkin with dinner on their own in Luxembourg City. Overnight Luxembourg City.

DAY 8

Half day excursion by motorcoach to Trier on the Moselle River in the morning. Lunch can be on their own in Trier, or after returning to Luxembourg City. That afternoon a tour of World War II sites around Luxembourg City including the U.S. Cemetery. That evening a group dinner at the Luxembourg City hotel (3 courses with coffee). Overnight Luxembourg City.

DAY 9

Depart Luxembourg City after breakfast and hotel checkout for a guided motorcoach excursion and touring transfer to Rudesheim. The morning includes a drive along the Moselle River to Cochem. Lunch can be on their own in Cochem. After lunch, a guided tour of Cochem's castle. After the castle tour, back on the motorcoach for a scenic drive along the Rhine River to St. Goar where the group embarks on a KD cruise ship for a sail through the Loreley region of the Rhine (known for its castles and vineyards) to Rudesheim. Disembarkation in Rudesheim almost 3 hours later followed by immediate checkin at the Rudesheim hotel for the evening. That night a farewell dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant (3 courses with coffee, wine and/or beer). Overnight in Rudesheim.

DAY 10

Transfer by motorcoach according to flight schedule from Rudesheim to the Frankfurt Airport for the flight back home.

program, according to budget and time concerns.
