The Rhine River

Europe’s most influential & famous waterway

Castle on the Rhine RiverThe Rhine River conjures up many different thoughts. Where it meets the sea, the Rhine River estuary is home to some of the largest ports in the world at Rotterdam and Antwerp. From these ports, goods from around the world are shipped by barge throughout central Europe.

But the Rhine River is also known for its historic significance, its wine and, of course, for modern day tourism and hospitality. The scenic middle Rhine is a virtual fairy tale land of medieval castles, lush hillside vineyards and picturesque towns. Rhine River cruises are our specialty and we cover a lot of ground, or should I say water, between Amsterdam and Strasbourg.
